Understanding the value of arts and culture

Report outlining the findings of the three year Arts and Humanities Research Council Cultural Value Project.

This is a comprehensive look at the myriad of ways arts and culture impact on our lives. The project sought to define the elements of cultural value and the evidence base for them asking questions such as:

Why do the arts and culture matter?

What difference do they make, and how do we know what difference they make?

Aspects of cultural value identified and evidenced in the report include the role of arts in helping shape reflective individuals, producing engaged citizens, promoting peace, shaping urban life and improving health and wellbeing.
