2017 ends on a high note

We hosted a thank you event to remember for everyone who generously gave their time to the Inquiry
Posted by CGF staff

2017 has been a big year for the Inquiry. January to June saw us researching and writing our Phase One report, Rethinking Relationships. And since its release in the summer, we have been hearing from and visiting arts organisations across the country about what they thought of the report’s findings.

We are indebted to our panel and International Reference Group for its challenges and support for our work. We also know our report wouldn’t have been so thought-provoking if 40 arts organisations hadn’t shared honestly with us their challenges and motivations. Our panel described the case studies as the ‘grit’ of the report, so we thought we’d have a little thank you party to show our gratitude.

Demonstrating the ‘civic role in action’ were Poet in the City and StreetWise Opera. First we heard from Ariel Silverman (part of  Poet in the City’s young producer programme) and poet Belinda Zhawli, who performed some of her funny and poignant work for us.

And then StreetWise Opera kept us entranced with a reverberating performance which ended with one of the most fun group singalongs to the 12 Days of Christmas we think we’ll ever be part of!

From all of us at CGF: thank you to all who came for making it such a night to remember.
